The Costa Verde has always been popular with the internal spanish market for rental purposes. In July and August people from Mardid and the central Meseta flock to the relatively cool climbs of the north coast. During this peak season do not be suprised to pay high rents for coastal properties. Availability is extremely limited during this peak time of year and to ensure accommodation you must book early.

The long term rental market is fairly limited in this part of the world with the main focus of properties being city centre or close by. Spain has one of the highest levels of owner occupation in europe and it will probably be several years before a significant rental sector appears.
